-Tell us how you made Look at me Now and what the track is about?
I've known BlackLioN for nearly 20 years, we both started out around the same time in Berlin. We reconnected last year and made "Movin' Up". The track did pretty well and we had so much fun making it we decided to work on an album together. "Look at me now" was the first song we did.
-How did the video come about?
We shot the video in Spain. The song is about coming up and rubbing it in the face of the nonbelievers. We kept the visuals pretty basic, got a couple pretty girls and nice scenery, that pretty much did the trick, haha.
-The track has two super talented artists on - how important is your circle as you rise in the music industry?
I think it's important to be open to networking but as far as my inner circle, I keep it very small. I've been in the music industry for a minute and seeing the things that happen behind the scenes has definitely made me a little paranoid and cautious when it comes to dealing with people.
-What projects have you got lined up
I'm finishing up the album with BlackLioN, hopefully we can drop it sometime in the fall. We've been doing everything ourselves with no label or management so it all takes a little longer, but we'll see how things develop. I'm also working on two projects with another artist called First Name Shayne. We put out his EP earlier this year. We're gonna release a mixtape next month and hopefully another EP or album by the end of the year. I'm also always working on my solo project, my album is starting to come together nicely but I probably won't release it until next year. I will most definitely be releasing singles until then though. So plenty of new music in 2018.
-Who would be your dream collaboration?
There's so many! Charli XCX, Ty Dolla $ign, Calvin Harris, Kid Cudi, 2 Chainz, The-Dream to name a few current ones. A lot of my favorites died over the last few years like Prince, but Phil Collins is still alive. So who knows...
-What artists are you listening to at the moment?
I'm so focused on finishing up all the stuff I'm working on, it's hard to keep track of all the new music but recently I've been listening to 2 Chainz, Kanye, Pusha, Black Thought, Awthentik, Nipsey Hussle, Ozuna, Bad Bunny, Justine Skye. Check out my Solarrio Radio playlist on Spotify!
