"I grew up on Lil Wayne" #musicmoney meets Ohio influencer @REMINGTONJV

Where are you from?

I am from a small town in Ohio, Logan. Ain't no Hip Hop artists there haha.

Describe your sound:

I honestly don't know haha I just have fun with it, if it sounds good I'm cool with it.

Tell us about your latest project?

Rockstar: spreadin’ happy vibes in a world filled with darkness. You are a Rockstar as long as you believe you are! Your thoughts are more powerful than you think.

Who inspires you?

I grew up on Lil Wayne. Listened to every mixtape he dropped & analyzed every bar. His wordplay was insane. He'll always be the GOAT.

Where do you see your career in 5 years?

Flying on jets with the homies & packing stadiums. Taking care of my family.

Where can we check out your music?

Check me out on Spotify, Apple Music, Soundcloud really just about anywhere!

Remington James DELIVERS with Prototype VII. To truly understand this album you have to grasp the picture he is painting here: "Prototype" symbolizing never being a complete person, rather a "work in progress". Over the course of this album we go through the highs & lows of fame, money, drug addiction, depression & more. On the title track "Villain" he addresses the hate he has received on the Internet from being a Youtuber (Remington James Fitness) & how you either "Die the Hero or live long enough to become the Villain". You can either stay the same forever or break the mold, the latter almost always leading to resistance from people you thought had your best interests at heart. Remington glides through this album effortlessly, sounding more like a 3rd or 4th project rather than a first.

There is no mistaking his sound: very distinct in a landscape that sounds very "familiar". Much like the album name suggests, you can hear him experimenting with a lot of different sounds on this thing. He can go from rapping like a rapid fire machine gun on "Immortal" to actually singing on a track like "Look At You". This album is not short on hits, many melodies and hooks playing back in your head long after listening for the first time. On the outro track "Hero" he pours every ounce of emotion possible into this thing & it sounds less like a song and more like a diary entry: a man coming to terms with everything he's went through. A poetic ending to an amazing album. The future is bright for this guy!
