My sound has been described as: "Samona is different. She is as much a jazz singer as soul and R&B crooner – singing beautifully with, against or across the beat. What she retains from the old-school aesthetics is the soulful authenticity seeping through her songs, and a voice to die for. Like a shamanic soul queen she unfolds her praise and worship narratives alongside beats built on hip-hop drums, jazzy keys and enthralling warm atmospheres. Tell us about your latest project:
My latest EP is entitled "Encouraged To Inspire." My latest single from this project is "Wings of Love." This song was inspired by my personal desire to inspire folks who feel weary. I personally experienced the death of my brother this year. I wrote this song from a perspective of resting in God's presence and hoping for peace in the midst of a challenging and painful storm. Resting on Wings of Love metaphorically symbolizes resting in God's presence through worship; An escape from the ills of this world.

God inspires me to sing and encourage hurting hearts.
Where do you see your career in 5 years?
In five years I hope to have a broader body of work that is relatable and composed with care and beauty.

I would consider myself to be a truth teller, a wife, a mother, and someone who is acquainted with pain. My desire is to turn pain into purpose and to help people find theirs.
