Where are you from?
I am originally from Fresno, CA but I joined the navy when I was 20 and have been bouncing around the world since then. I finish the end of my contract in November and am going back to Colorado where I got a place a couple years ago.
Describe your sound:
I would describe my sound as the noise that happens when someone goes for their dreams. My music is made up of beats and lyrics that make people feel something and feel inspired.
Tell us about your new track:
My last song came about by talking to people close to me about how I want to chase this and how I’m over dwelling on everything I’ve been through that had me twisted up. It’s a celebration of overcoming struggle and seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. All about staying positive and reaching for what you want.
Who inspires you?
Anyone courageous enough to live their dream. My whole life everyone I know always talked about what they wish they could do or have but fear keeps them from it and they end up doing something they are discontent with. My message is listen, you can do whatever, just go for it with no doubt, we can all live our dream.
Where do you see your career in 5 years?
In 5 years I will have a full catalog of music that will inspire and motivated people to be and do whatever it is they want. No dream is too wild, and it took a lot of life to figure out I haven’t and won’t live mine until I achieve that.
Where can we check out your sounds:
My music will be available wherever you get your music, Souncloud, Spotify, ITunes, I’m making sure whatever your preferred platform you will be able to hear. This music is for everyone.
Tell the people something they need to know:
People need to know that I’m chasing my dream to show everyone that there’s is within reach too. I’m going to be living proof that nothing is out of reach, I hope they enjoy the journey and ride the wave with me.

The California rapper celebrates the beauty in the struggle with his uplifting new video.
Mitchell James, an emerging 26-year-old rapper from California, delivers an anthem of positivity with a smooth track called “Silver Linings” produced by German duo Blunted Beatz. The song provides listeners with fresh lyrical delivery that evokes hope for what is to come and triumph over a challenging past.
“My life was a rollercoaster for what seemed like an eternity. I had to completely check out from the world to piece myself back together. Completely cut myself off from everything and everyone I knew and took a long hard look at who I am and I want. That’s what this song is about. No matter how absent of good life might seem at times, there is something positive to take away and learn from. Now I’m back. I want the world to know I’m good now. And you can be too.”
The video—directed by Zachary Hazard and Jose Zabala—offers vibrant visuals in locations ranging from Sicily to Ireland. This promising debut offers a glimpse into Mitchell James’ past while getting fans excited for a bright future.
