"People still recognize me from the TV shows I grew up on" #musicmoney meets superstar Renee Olstead

Where are you from?

Houston, Texas

Describe your sound:

Alternative Country…. sort of a new take on old-school sound.

Tell us about your latest project:

"Help Me Make It Through the Night” is the first single from my upcoming album. I’ve been so inspired by legendary artists that I wanted to lead off the new releases by paying homage to the greats. The new album will be mostly original material with a couple covers thrown in.

Who inspires you?

Dolly, Willie, Sam Cooke, Billie Holiday, Waylon Jennings

How did you get into music?

I started really young. In fact I signed to Warner Brothers at age 12 and put out the first of two records I made with David Foster by age 15.

Where do you see your career in 5 years?

I’d like to be touring to support the record after this one!

Where can we check out your sounds?

iTunes, Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon… basically anywhere people like to listen to music, they can find me.

Tell us something about yourself that the people need to know:

Well, I guess a fun fact would be that a lot of people still recognize me from the tv shows I grew up on. (CBS’ “Still Standing” and ABCFamily’s “The Secret Life of the American Teenager”)
